 Post subject: Kadhai Masala

I tasted some wonderful Jhinga Khada Masala in Chennai last week.

Got a recipe which came very close to the dish. But I am not sure about the Kadhai Masala. What are the essential ingredients for that Masala? In the meantime I bought some ready made "Kadhai Masala" (powder) from Kohinoor and the ingredients inside are listed as follows:
Chilli, Fennel, Hing, Tumeric, Cardamom, Salt, Starch, Milk Solids, Tomato Powder and E 551 for anticaking.
Google tells also that Kadhai only means "whole spices", so if that is true, why did they grind it into a powder? Any idea what exactly "Kadha Masala" means and how to make it myself? Many thanks!
