 Post subject: dessert with cream of wheat ??

i eat at an indian buffet every saturday i always look for to dessert . i know gulab jamun but there is another dessert there that i love and i want to find out the name of it and a good recipe...........the dessert is made from cream of wheat (farina) it is light orange and is cut into triangles it is not real sweet it is just right . i love it please if anyone can help me please e-mail me at www.mushockle@aol.com

i found out the dessert that i am looking for is called kesray ??? i need recipe please!!!!!!!!

Try this and tell me this is the dessert you are talking about.I never try this but now i gonna try it.Send me an e-mail i am waiting for reply.I want to know that you want exactly this recipe or not.

Ingredients

1cup semolina(Cream of wheat)
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups water
5 pistas Cut
5 almonds Cut (for garnish)
10-12 raisins(Kishmish)
1/4 tsp. cardamom powder
2 pinches saffron soaked in 1 tbsp. warm milk
few drops yellow colour (optional)
3 tbsp. ghee

Method:

1.Heat ghee in a large heavy pan add rava.
2.Stir and roast on low for 7-8 minutes or till aroma exudes.
3.Side by side put water to boil add sugar bring to a boil.
4.Add boiling water to the rava little at a time stirring continuously.
5.Take care to protect hands from the spluttering. 6.When well mixed check rava grain between fingers and taste for sweetness.
7.Adjust sweetness and add more boiling water if grain is hard.
8.Add the remaining ingredients cover and simmer till ghee separates.
9.Save a small amount of almonds and pistas for garnishing.
10.Add colour if desired and mix well.
11.Grease a katori or steel cup. Press hot bhath inside it and unmould onto a plate.
12.garnish with a few slivers of almonds and pistas serve hot.



Making time: 25 minutes
Serve 3 or 4 persons
